My first Specular Map!

In order to get a realistic look for my robot, I will have to use various texture maps - this is the result of using a texture, diffuse and specular map, with bump mapping from said maps...

Anti-Alias testing


Whilst noticably increasing the rendering time, anti-aliasing is an important technique that cannot be ignored. Considering the high resolution and high quality images I desire for this project, I have chosen to utilise anti-aliasing through the mentalray raytracer. The results of my testins can be seen in the image below:

Highlights

Using bevelling in the appropriate areas gives this claw a realistic rim highlight.
